Hero’s Journey to Innovative Impact

Hey there, I'm Miranda, thanks for being here!

I really am called to share with you my story and first steps of my journey of what led me to creating my coaching business, Innovative COMPASS.

For the past decade, I've been immersed in the world of beauty, specializing in eyelash extensions and microblading. I honed my skills, learned from incredible women, and weathered the challenges of being a small business owner. However, deep down, I knew I wanted to do something more, something that would make a significant impact on the world.

In the early days, my perception of success was all about making six figures. When my peers were deciding what they wanted to do, the conversation sounded a lot like.. “if i go to school and study ___, I’ll be making close to 6 figures when I get out of college.”Traditionally I’ve always found myself trying shortcut life, so my brain started doing the math.

The steps to me sounded like..

1. Find a service that I could

2. Multiply to enough times in a year to make 6 figures.

Before the age of 18, there had been MANY entrepreneurial pursuits. I was selling makeup for Mary Kay at 15, getting hired to do makeup for professionals in my community, babysitting, school lessons, softball lessons. I had already carved a pathway in my brain that being useful in someway to your community can get you paid. The makeup journey had a lot of traction and was fun.. so I continued down that road.

My mom and her friend had already ventured into the world of lash extensions and had built up a steady clientele. So, 4 weeks after graduation, I grabbed a friend and went to Dallas for my lash training. I vividly remember my first week, calculating my income making $400—an encouraging start to say the least. I was so excited! These services were both new to the area, so after a few years we were seeing 8-10 people a day. My clients were coming to see me every 2-3 weeks. I was seeing them more than my own family. I added micro blading to my business and that helped me reach even more people that EVEN DROVE HOURS TO SEE ME.

Over the span of a decade, I've had the privilege of serving and gaining insights from thousands of remarkable women across the southern region of the United States. There are no words to express my gratitude reflecting on this experience.

But it was about 3 years into microblading and I reached the age of 21, I reached my goal of 6 figures.

I kinda got depressed and found myself in a flailing phase.

It became clear to me that success wasn't just about hitting a financial target; it was about setting new goals that you’re passionate about and continually growing.

It wasn't until recently that I found a quote that resonated with what I was going through at the time..

Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.
— Earl Nightingale

He explains the quote by saying.. “we are successful when we create a goal and aim for it. we are failures as soon as we reach that goal and until we make a new goal."

After 6 years into the decade i did some soul-searching, I began to focus on the issues that mattered to me most: societal problems like obesity, pesticide use, and the lack of entrepreneurship education.

I got extremely inspired by a company called 80,000 Hours, which is a nonprofit that explains that we only have 80,000 hours in our lifetime to make an impact on the world. This realization hit me hard and motivated me to make a change.

I realized that I needed to channel my skills and passion into something that could not only generate income but also contribute positively to society.

So this led me to my first impact project, Deez Beanz. A cold brew coffee company that could be bottled, with my mom’s DELICIOUS dairy-free cold brew coffee recipe.

In our first year, we focused on promoting it on the aspects of dairy-free and higher in caffeine. As we continued taking our health journey more seriously, our product evolved to become dairy-free, sugar-free, and organic. We put in the hard work to refine the recipe, reduce the calorie count from 400 calories to 40 calories, and create a product that reflected our health goals.

During this journey, I wore many hats, learning website design, logo design, social media strategies, and more. I delved into the world of online tools and gained insights into the preferences of Gen Z consumers, thanks to my mom's expertise in technology. Printing turned out to be the most challenging aspect, but we persevered.

What struck me most during this process was people's lack of awareness about healthy alternatives like monk fruit or the presence of pesticides in the coffee they consumed. Just the lack of knowledge about a lot of underlying issues that our everyday products have. People are busy, and they don’t have the time to prioritize these issues.

My time spent in the lash and brow chair opened my eyes to the pivotal role that women play in our society. They are often the decision-makers when it comes to family, health, and finances, bearing the weight of these responsibilities while navigating the challenges of an individualistic society.

In today's fast-paced world, women need more than ever a support system and a sense of community. It became clear to me that I had a calling to empower women by sharing knowledge on essential topics such as artificial intelligence, organic food, holistic health, and entrepreneurship.

In this system we are part of, the bandwidth of our female leaders is often consumed, leaving limited room for them to fully engage in broader societal issues.

All of these realizations combined.. it led me back to my mission of making a meaningful impact by developing a coaching/consulting business. I saw the opportunity to merge my skills with the Deez Beanz project, the decade of entrepreneurial experience in the beauty industry with my newfound passion and understanding about societal issues.

My goal is to support businesses across the country that are actively addressing critical societal issues, ranging from holistic health solutions and healthy food options to entrepreneurship education and environmental conservation. I firmly believe that business can serve as a powerful means to address the crises our world faces today. My mission is to equip them with cutting-edge tools and strategies that will not only future-proof their operations, teams, and marketing approaches but also enable them to save valuable time and resources. By doing so, we empower these entrepreneurs to achieve their objectives more swiftly and establish long-lasting sustainability in this new era of business.

We believe in the power of passion and collaboration to drive meaningful change. If you're a business owner looking to make a positive impact, I’d love to talk and see how we can collaborate to see how our solutions can make a difference in your business.

Thank you for joining me on this exciting new chapter.

Together, we can make the world a better place, one business at a time.
